Our Program

The band program at Westside Middle School consists of over 110 talented instrumental performers in grades 6-8. Performing groups include the 6th Grade Band, Combined 7th & 8th Grade Band, Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensemble. Members of the band have been selected to various local, regional, and state honor bands, and many former members of the band program have gone on to perform not only in high school band, but to perform in college band programs throughout the Southeast, with a number of them majoring in music education. Membership in the WMS Band is open to all interested students with approval of the director.
